Covid-19: Mumbai’s fresh cases breach the 500 mark

The doubling rate dipped and was 1,185 days on Wednesday. The city’s recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent, as 405 people were discharged after full recovery on Wednesday.

Mumbai saw a significant rise in new Covid-19 cases as the daily figure breached the 500 mark along with a rise in the test positivity rate (TPR). The fatalities due to the infection reported on Wednesday were same as the previous day.

As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) report, 527 new cases were reported on Wednesday along with six deaths. The TPR was 1.42 per cent. While three of the deceased had comorbidities, one was in the age group of 40 to 60 years and five were above 60 years of age.
