Covid-19: Mumbai’s test positivity rate dips below 1 per cent

State sees marginal rise in cases, reports 4,219 infections on Thursday

Even though more people were screened for Covid-19 on Thursday, the city’s test positivity rate (TPR) saw a marginal dip at 0.94 per cent. Fresh Covid-19 cases, too, fell to below 500. As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) report, 458 new cases and six deaths were reported in the city on Thursday. MMR reported 955 new cases.

The city’s doubling rate continued to decrease and was 1,206 days on Wednesday. Mumbai’s recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent and 334 people were discharged after full recovery on Thursday. The six people who died of Covid had comorbidities and were above 60 years of age.
