India recorded 564 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, according to data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Thursday.
The total number of active Covid-19 cases in India now stands at 4,866.
However, concerns have risen owing to the seven Covid-related deaths reported during this period.

The seventh fatality, however, was a five-year-old child with severe pre-existing respiratory conditions.
Although officials have stated that the Covid-19 outbreak is not alarming, the mild surge has prompted heightened vigilance.
