COVID-19: Daily cases drop by 1,722 in Mumbai; Maharashtra below 60,000

Mumbai’s recovery rate is at 82 per cent and the doubling rate now stands at 42 days, both improving since the last couple of days, said officials. The city’s growth in the last one week has been nearly 1.64 per cent.

After showing a slight dip for a day, daily COVID cases in Maharashtra jumped beyond 60,000 on Thursday. The numbers remained below 10,000 and dropped by over 1,700 over Wednesday. While 349 were killed by the virus in Maharashtra, Mumbai’s fatality figure touched 50.
The state recorded 61,695 new cases, taking the tally to 36.39 lakh. The overall fatalities have risen to 59,153.
