Dahi Handi 2026: Thane civic body says 38 govindas injured; 65-year-old suffers head injury

The Thane civic body said 38 govindas were treated at two government hospitals for injuries sustained during celebrations till 9 pm. A 65-year-old govinda suffered a head injury, while another participant sustained a right leg fracture

As many as 38 govindas were taken to two government hospitals in Thane for treatment after sustaining injuries during Dahi Handi celebrations till 9 pm on Saturday, according to information from the Thane Municipal Corporation.

Of the 38 injured, 22 were treated at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital, while 16 were taken to the District Government Hospital.
