In a case of domestic violence rooted in a property dispute, a 73-year-old man, was allegedly beaten so badly by his son, that he now lies in a hospital bed, with both his legs fractured. The incident took place on Sunday in the Ghartanpada area of Dahisar East, when the son, Kishor Satle, 47, overcome by greed, allegedly assaulted his father, Vijay Satle, with a stick during an argument over transferring of a flat in his name.
According to police sources, Vijay, a widower, lives alone in Dahisar East. His elder son Kishor, the accused, lives in the family’s native village in Sindhudurg, while his younger son Mithun, 45, stays nearby in Vaishali Nagar and regularly looks after him. The dispute reportedly stemmed from a 1BHK flat in Hari Nagar, Jogeshwari, which Vijay owns and currently rents out. The rental income supports his daily expenses. Kishor had been pressuring his father for years to transfer the property to his name.

“On Sunday, Kishor arrived at his father’s home and started an argument. When his father refused, saying, ‘The flat will be yours after my death,’ Kishor lost his temper. He picked up a stick placed behind the door and began assaulting him,” said a police officer. “He struck both his father’s legs and continued hitting him even after he collapsed, also targeting his back.”
A neighbour who witnessed the incident alerted Mithun, who rushed to the house and took his injured father to Shatabdi Hospital. Doctors confirmed fractures in both legs. The hospital reported the matter to Dahisar police via a medico-legal case call.
Police Sub-Inspector Kiran Kote, who was on duty, recorded Vijay's statement in the hospital. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS):
Section 118(2) for causing grievous hurt,
Section 352 for intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of peace,
Section 351(2) for criminal intimidation.
“The accused is currently absconding. A search operation is underway,” confirmed Senior Inspector Ashok Honmane of Dahisar police station. When contacted, the victim’s younger son and daughter-in-law declined to comment.
