A major obstacle to one of Malwani's long-pending road projects has finally been removed, with 106 project-affected families receiving keys to their rehabilitation homes, paving the way for the clearance of hutments that have blocked the proposed Abdul Hamid Road-to-Lagoon Road widening project for decades.

The rehabilitation exercise is expected to accelerate work on the crucial road link, which residents say is essential to easing chronic traffic congestion in Malwani and improving access to Gate No 8, MHADA and Ambujwadi.
