After Chikhloli, yet another suburban station is taking shape, this time on the Thane-Vashi line. Dighe junction will be the first swanky station on the Navi Mumbai line with escalators and elevators.
An official of the Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation that has been involved with the project said Dighe is a part of the elevated corridor planned between Airoli and Kalwa. “The project has land procurement issues as the corridor crosses over a slum colony and work has begun wherever titles are clear. Dighe station, a part of the same project, is also progressing well. This will be the point from where the new elevated line will start,” he said.
