Gadkari moves Bombay HC against Meta, X over alleged AI deepfakes linking family to E20 policy

According to the petition, several social media posts and videos falsely claim that Gadkari and his family members financially benefited from the government's ethanol blending programme. The Union Minister described the allegations as "completely baseless, false and defamatory"

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has moved the Bombay High Court (HC), filing a defamation suit against alleged AI-generated deepfake videos and misleading social media posts that link him and his family to the Centre's E20 ethanol blending policy, news agency IANS reported.

The court has admitted the petition and scheduled a hearing on Gadkari's plea seeking interim relief. He has sought an injunction restraining the circulation of the disputed content.
