A fire broke out at a scrap godown in Maharashtra's Thane district in the early hours of Sunday, destroying machinery and large stocks of cardboard, a civic official said, reported news agency PTI.

No casualties were reported in the blaze that erupted around 6.40 am at the godown in Shamim Compound on the Shilphata-Mahape Road in Diwa, the official said, reported PTI.
