A fire broke out at a scrapyard in Maharashtra's Thane district, an official said on Saturday, reported news agency PTI.

No one was injured in the fire that erupted around 11 pm on Friday at Bablu Compound in the Shil area, said Yasin Tadvi, chief of the Disaster Management Cell of Thane Municipal Corporation, reported PTI.


The fire, which was confined to five godowns in the scrapyard, was put out by firefighters around 5.15 am on Saturday, he said.



Tadvi said an investigation will be carried out to ascertain the cause of the fire.

A major fire broke out in a godown in Shil area of Thane on Friday night, though there are no reports of anyone getting injured, a civic official said, reported news agency PTI.

The blaze started at 11pm in MS Compound near Dostil Complex, TMC disaster management cell chief Yasin Tadvi said, reported PTI.

"Firefighting operations are underway. There is no report of injuries. Police personnel, Torrent Power Company employees and fire brigade personnel with two fire vehicles, one water tanker and one rescue vehicle are at the site," he said.

Fire breaks out at cafe in Thane, no injuries reported

Earlier, a fire broke out in the meter box of a cafe in Thane West, according to the Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) of the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC). No injuries were reported in the incident.

According to the Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) of the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC), the fire broke out in the meter box of Cafe Amigos near Hyde Park, Hiranandani Meadows in Thane (West). 

The fire was reported at around 8:59 PM by the Balkum Fire Station. A fire engine was immediately dispatched, and fire brigade personnel reached the location promptly.

Officials said the blaze was confined to the cafe's meter box and was brought under control within 10 minutes. Firefighters successfully extinguished the flames by 9:09 PM.

The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation. Authorities confirmed that the situation is fully under control, with no threat to nearby establishments.
