A fire broke out in the meter room of a residential building in the Pachpakhadi area of Thane West in the early hours of Thursday, according to the Disaster Management Cell of the Thane Municipal Corporation.

Officials said the incident was reported to the Disaster Management Cell at around 1:12 am on May 7 by the Pachpakhadi Fire Station. The fire occurred in the meter room located on the ground floor of Sarika Apartment, a ground-plus-three-storey building situated near Utsav Hotel.
