Four constables arrested for attempted robbery

Mumbai police on Thursday night arrested four members of their own fraternity on charges of attempted robbery.

The Mumbai police on Thursday arrested four constables attached to Additional Commissioner of Police (east zone), Quaser Khalid, in Mulund while they were allegedly attempting to rob a beauty parlour, a top cop told MiD DAY.

The four constables, 2 of whom are the ACP’s drivers and two others are wireless operators, had beaten two employees of Rudrakshi beauty parlour and spa in their reported attempt to steal from the premises. The four -- Humanta Kamble, Shekhar Shinde Mudukar Khillare and Dasarath Janekar -- forcefully took Rs 10,000 from the purses of the two women.
