Students can explore their options to study in France during the ‘Choose France Tour 2022’, a series of education fairs; the one in Mumbai starts today

France is using the language of its historic rival, the UK, to attract Indian students. Some French institutes will now teach courses in English to them. The country has a target of getting 20,000 Indian students in France by 2025.
“The courses will be taught in English to Indian students. They do not need to learn French. All the selected 20,000 students that go from here will have English as a medium of teaching. France is now opening up, and is among the countries in Europe where the number of students being taught in English has been on the rise over the years,” an Institut Français spokesperson said.

Students from across India who want to study abroad can explore their options for studying in France during ‘Choose France Tour 2022’, a series of education fairs that are being held in India from October 11 to October 16. The Mumbai event is being held today.

Emmanuel Lebrun-Damiens, country director of Institut Francais in India, said, “France and India have an agreement for the Mutual Recognition of Academic Qualifications, which eases the process of admissions in each other’s institutions. In addition to boosting student exchanges, the fairs will help Indian students explore practical ways for seeking job opportunities in France after graduating there.”
Representatives of 37 leading universities, grandes ecoles, and colleges are in the city to inform students of the options available in the varied fields of management, engineering, hospitality, humanities, arts, architecture, design to list a few.
This initiative by Institut Français en Inde—the educational, cultural, and scientific wing of the Embassy of France in India, will provide an opportunity for academicians to explore potential collaboration. The fair is being held in collaboration with Campus France—a French government agency that counsels international students seeking to pursue higher studies in the country.
The Mumbai event is to be held at The Taj Mahal Palace, Apollo Bunder, Colaba between 11 am and 4 pm on Saturday and students can avail a free counselling session from the Campus France managers and receive information regarding scholarships, visa opportunities and student life in France.
