Updated On: 03 March, 2016 01:36 PM IST | | Varun Singh
KDMC has asked housing societies (above 2,000 sq m) to sell dry waste to the scrap dealer, and compost the wet garbage in their premises

After the Bombay High Court restrained the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) from issuing Intimation for Disapproval (IOD) and Commencement Certificates (CC) for new construction till it comes out with a decision on solid waste management, Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation has now come out with a rule to prevent overloading the dumping ground in Adharwadi, Kalyan — any new housing society above 2,000 square metres will have to dispose off its garbage within its own premises.
