Yesterday, custom officials recovered 22 gold bars worth Rs 67,63,298 (weighing 2,552 gm) from a passenger who arrived in Mumbai from Riyadh. Musthafa Mannath arrived on the flight SV-784.

The gold was concealed in two car horns and a mixture grinder. In another case, officers of the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) recovered 1.5 kg of gold chains, bangles and watches from Rekha Tharunahasanee and Kanaka Pandyan worth Rs 20,19,449. The women came to the city from Bangkok on flight 9W 67. Both were arrested and later released on bail.
