The Bombay High Court today asked he Maharashtra government to file a status report on the probe into allegedly derogatory comments made by former Maharashtra minister Narayan Rane and his son Nitesh against the Gujarati community.
The direction was given by a bench headed by Justice Anoop Mohata on a public interest litigation. The bench also issued notices to Rane, a senior Congress leader, and his son while asking the government to file affidavit within two weeks on the probe status.
