Sacked cop, who recently underwent bypass surgery at a private hospital, says he is at risk of infection in Taloja jail

Sachin Waze
The Bombay High Court on Wednesday directed the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to file an affidavit in response to a plea filed by dismissed policeman Sachin Waze, arrested in the Antilia bomb scare and businessman Mansukh Hiran murder cases, seeking to be placed under house custody.
Waze was arrested by the NIA in March and was later sent to judicial custody. Last month, a sessions court allowed Waze to undergo bypass surgery at a private hospital. Waze then sought permission from the special NIA court to be placed under house arrest so that he could recuperate. The sacked officer said he was vulnerable to infection if he is asked to stay in jail.
