Mumbai lake levels rise to 9.41 per cent as heavy rain boosts water storage

Mumbai’s seven lakes now hold 9.41 per cent of their useful live storage capacity after continuous heavy rainfall, according to the BMC. The IMD has issued a red alert for Mumbai and surrounding areas, forecasting more heavy to extremely heavy rain through the weekend

Mumbai’s seven major lakes, after heavy spells of rain across the city and surrounding areas since the last few days, are now starting to increase significantly. Seven lakes that supply water to Mumbai now hold 9.41 per cent of their useful live storage capacity as of 6 am on Saturday, July 4, according to the daily water stock report issued by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
