Days after experiencing extreme heat-wave-like conditions, Mumbai on Tuesday woke up to its third straight day of rain, with several parts of the island city receiving moderate to heavy showers in the morning, while the suburbs saw lighter rainfall. While the moderate rain lashed parts of Mumbai and suburbs, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) at 7:00 am on Tuesday issued an Orange Warning for Mumbai and neighbouring Raigad district, forecasting thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, moderate rain and gusty winds.
According to the IMD forecast, Mumbai is likely to witness a maximum temperature of 34.6 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 25.1 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. Humid conditions are expected to prevail despite intermittent rainfall activity across the city and suburbs.
