The 32-year-old homemaker was gagged and pinned down by four men as two others raped her in her house in Golai Nagar, Kalwa. They then burned her with a chemical. Her 13-year-old daughter was tied up, while her eight-month-old son was spared.

The woman sustained burns to her chest and other body parts. Three of the perpetrators are still absconding. The victim told cops that the men had targeted her over a financial dispute with her husband, who was in his hometown in Telangana during the attack.
The Kalwa police said the woman was molested by the same men in 2015. A case was filed against them then. An officer said an FIR has been filed against the six under relevant sections of the IPC. "The six had fled following the attack. We nabbed three of them -- Gopal Rao Shankar Kalmi, 28, Shakhur Hussain Shakhu, 23, Rangappa Asappa 25, this morning."
The victim is undergoing treatment at the civic-run Chhatrapati Shivaji Hospital in Kalwa.
