KDMC ramps up monsoon safety measures with streetlight pole replacement drive

Ahead of the monsoon, KDMC has identified 268 hazardous and rusted streetlight poles across Kalyan-Dombivli for immediate replacement. The civic body is also repairing electrical systems, fittings, and control panels to prevent accidents and ensure uninterrupted services during the rainy season

As monsoon preparedness gathers pace across the city, the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has identified and begun replacing 268 old and hazardous streetlight poles across its jurisdiction.
According to KDMC’s electricity department, the civic body currently maintains 33,570 streetlight poles and 44,907 light fittings across the city.
