The Mumbai traffic police have announced traffic diversions owing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s road show in Mumbai today. The traffic diversions have been announced to ensure that the traffic is not hampered during PM Modi's Ghatkopar roadshow.

Route of the roadshow
According to the reports, PM Modi's Ghatkopar roadshow will begin at 8 pm from Shreyas Cinema at LBS Marg and it will terminate at Gandhi Market in Sion.

No annoyance for motorists
To ensure smooth traffic flow and reduce annoyance for motorists, the Mumbai traffic police have declared road restrictions along the LBS Marg to Sion. According to deputy commissioner of police (traffic) of Eastern suburbs, Dr Raju Bhujbal, "The roadshow is expected to draw big crowds, which would disrupt vehicular traffic on LBS Road. As a result, between 2 pm and 10 pm on May 15, sections of LBS Road (from Gandhi Nagar Junction to Naupada Junction) and Mahul-Ghatkopar Road (from Meghraj Junction to R.B Kadam Junction) would be closed in both directions."

The announcement signed by Dr Bhujbal lists three new road closures: Andheri Ghatkopar Link Road from Ghatkopar Junction to Saki Naka Junction, Gulati Petrol Pump Junction from Hiranandani Kailas Complex Road, and Golibar Maidan and Ghatkopar Metro Station (West) to Sarvodaya Junction. To minimise delays, motorists should utilise other routes such as the Eastern Express Highway, Western Express Highway, Andheri-Kurla Road, Saki Vihar Road, MIDC Central Road, Santacruz-Chembur Link Road, Sion-Bandra Link Road, or Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road.

PM Modi will be in Mumbai today campaigning for candidates of the Bharatiya Janata Party. The road show will be conducted in Ghatkopar which falls in the Mumbai North East constituency on May 15. Modi will be addressing a rally first at Dindori and then at Kalyan before the roadshow in Ghatkopar.  According to reports from BJP’s media cell and Mihir Kotecha (Mumbai North East candidate), PM Modi's Ghatkopar roadshow will begin at 8 pm from Shreyas Cinema on LBS Marg and it will terminate at Gandhi Market in Sion. The PM will be holding another rally in the city on May 17.
