A 13-year-old boy allegedly drowned at Pandavkada waterfall in Kharghar area of Navi Mumbai in <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-crime-news/article/maharashtra-man-assaults-injures-7-year-old-girl-in-bhiwandi-held-23305861" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Maharashtra</a> on Sunday during an outing, police said, according to the PTI.
The incident occurred amid a ban on visiting this waterfall during the monsoon, they said, as per the PTI.
"The boy, identified as Harsh Gautam, was at the waterfall with some men when he slipped into the water and drowned. After the incident, local fire brigade personnel were alerted and his body was fished out," an official of Kharghar police station in <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/search/navi-mumbai-articles" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Navi Mumbai</a> said, reported the PTI.
The body was sent to a government hospital for postmortem and a case of accidental death was registered, he said, adding that the police are investigating the incident.
Meanwhile, in an another incident last week, two men drowned in a waterfall in Shahpur tehsil of Maharashtra&rsquo;s Thane district, the police had earlier said.
The incident took place at Mahuli Gad, Khor village, Inspector Samsher Tadvi of Vashind police station had said.
The duo, along with a woman friend, were visiting the spot when one of them fell into the deep pool at the bottom of the waterfall and the other tried to save him. But both of them drowned, PTI had reported.
After the woman alerted police, local fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot and pulled out the bodies.
The deceased were identified as Kartik Nagbushan Reddy-Patil (22), who hailed from Andhra Pradesh, and Dhananjay Dattatrya Gaikwad (30), a resident of Murbad in the district.
In July, at least three children had drowned in the Papadkhind dam at Fulwadi in Virar. Local residents managed to save two of them, but an 11-year-old child died in this incident.&nbsp;
Vasanth Borade, along with his wife, son and two other children, went to the dam for a picnic. In the evening, around 7 pm Om Borade (11) and his friends Ansh (12) and Vansh (11) started drowning in the water.&nbsp;
With the help of locals, Vansh and Ansh were rescued. However, Om drowned and lost his life. The Virar police station has registered a case of accidental death.&nbsp;
