Last year, after relentless protests by schoolteachers, the Maharashtra State Board had increased the remuneration for assessment work by Rs 1 per answer sheet. This year, the teachers are agitating again, but this time it's because the measly R150 travel allowance, which is offered to them by the Board, has been unceremoniously snipped from their remuneration. Significantly, the schoolteachers received the remuneration recently, after a two-month delay.
