Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday instructed officials to ensure that 30 key infrastructure projects are completed within a strict three-year timeline, warning against any further delays.

Chairing a review meeting in the war room of the Chief Minister's Office, Fadnavis emphasised timely execution. “Projects should not drag on for years. They must be completed within the designated three-year period,” he stated, according to news agency PTI.

He also directed that all decisions taken during the review be implemented promptly. “The status of each project must be updated on the CM Dashboard for swift action. Every related task should be closely monitored and resolved without delay,” he said, reported PTI.

Among the major projects reviewed were the Mumbai Metro Lines 4 (Wadala-Kasarvadavali), 5 (Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan), and 6 (Swami Samarth Nagar-Vikhroli), along with several other key infrastructure initiatives.

Fadnavis also highlighted the need to ease traffic congestion on the Western Expressway, stating that the extension of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link up to Versova, Dahisar, and Bhayander will significantly improve connectivity across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

"The work to connect the sea link to Versova is 63 per cent complete", he said, adding that land acquisition issues have been resolved, reported news agency PTI.

He stated that housing projects located near the farthest metro stations should be developed along the metro infrastructure.

Fadnavis also discussed the distribution of housing units to the residents of the BDD (Bombay Development Department) chawl in Naigaon and the NM Joshi Marg chawl, ensuring the timely completion of these projects.

SC order paves way for holding local body polls with 27 per cent OBC quota: CM Fadnavis

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday said the Supreme Court's order has paved the way for holding the elections to local bodies with a 27 per cent quota for OBCs.

"The apex court had already directed on May 6 that the local body polls be held as per the OBC quota of 2017. This direction was confirmed today. Now the entire OBC reservation will be implemented in the upcoming polls to local bodies," Fadnavis told reporters.
