The Maharashtra Education Department on Friday announced that the final special round of First Year Junior College (FYJC) online admissions will be held from October 4 to 6, 2025, an official statement said.

Earlier, the admissions were delayed due to heavy rains and floods in parts of Maharashtra.

The decision was taken considering the recent heavy rains and floods in the state and based on the meeting held on 30 September between Assembly Speaker Adv. Rahul Narwekar and School Education Minister Dadaji Bhuse, the statement said.

It said that while speaking about the development, Director of Education (Secondary), Dr Mahesh Palekar, appealed to students, parents, and junior college principals to take note of this last opportunity for admission under the centralised online system.

So far, 10 rounds of FYJC admissions for the 2025-26 academic year have been completed. The round is meant for those who have not yet secured a seat.

"From October 4 to 6, 2025, between 10 am and 3 pm, the students can register, fill preferences, or change their existing preferences," the official statement said.

It said that those who do not fill or change preferences at this stage will not be considered for allotment. If a student does not get a seat, they will be given another chance to revise their options when vacancies are displayed again.

The allotments will be made strictly based on merit and the order of preferences, it further said, adding that once a college is allotted, no further changes in preferences will be allowed for that student.

After all rounds are completed, a final merit-based allotment will be done at once. The schedule for confirming admissions at colleges will be released after October 7, 2025.

The education department said that this is the final opportunity for FYJC online admissions and no further rounds will be held.

It said that for more information, students are advised to visit the official admission portal: https://mahafyjcadmissions.in, email support@mahafyjcadmissions.in, or call the helpline number 8530955564.
