The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has launched a major state-wide drive against unsafe food, leading to the suspension of licences of top bakeries in Mumbai and the seizure of more than seven tonnes of food products across the state, an official statement.

The inspections were carried out on July 23 under the 'Safe Food, Safe Maharashtra' campaign led by Food Safety Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe. The operation focused on improving food hygiene and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
