Five people were killed and 22 sustained injuries in a tragic road incident in Maharashtra's Beed district

Nine persons were killed and 27 others suffered injuries in Maharashtra's Beed district, in two separate road accidents. The first accident occurred when a private bus, speeding along its route from Mumbai to Beed, overturned at Aashta Fata around 6 am on Thursday, situated about 120 km from its destination. The bus, reportedly traveling at high speed, veered out of control, leading to the tragic incident.
The police promptly launched a rescue operation, enlisting the assistance of local residents. In the aftermath of the accident, five persons lost their lives, with four hailing from the Beed district and one from Yavatmal. An additional 26 passengers sustained injuries and were transported to various hospitals for medical attention. The victims were identified as Dhondiba Shinde, Deodatt Peche, Mohammad Asif Dost Mohammed Khan, Ashok Bhondve, and Ravi Godambe.

The second accident occurred when a speeding ambulance, en route to Ahmednagar, collided with a truck from the rear near Ambhora on Dhamangaon-Ahmednagar Road in Beed at approximately 9.30 pm on Wednesday. In this tragic incident, four individuals lost their lives, and one person sustained injuries. The ambulance driver and two other passengers succumbed to their injuries at the accident site, while a doctor traveling in the ambulance later passed away during treatment at a private hospital in Ahmednagar. The deceased were identified as Dr. Rajesh Jhinjurke (35) and ambulance driver Bharat Lokhande (35), both from Ashti, along with Manoj Tirpude and Pappu Tirkhunde from Pathardi. The injured individual was transported to a hospital for medical care.
On October 15, at least 12 people were killed and 23 others injured when a speeding mini-bus hit a container on Samruddhi Expressway in Aurangabad district.
PTI reported that 35 passengers were traveling in the bus.

Quoting officials, the report said the accident took place at around 12.30 a.m. in Vaijapur area of the expressway in the district, located nearly 350 km from Mumbai, he said. The bus driver lost control of the wheels. As a result, the bus hit the container from the rear side, the official said.
13 killed in road accident in Karnataka's Chikkaballapur
In another tragic news, thirteen people were killed when the SUV they were travelling in crashed into a stationary tanker here on Thursday morning, police said.
The accident occurred on the outskirts of the district headquarters town of Chikkaballapur at around 7 am, they said.
The vehicle was plying from Anantapur district in Andhra Pradesh to Bengaluru when the driver crashed into the stationary tanker on NH 44 killing 13 passengers, including four women.
Preliminary probe has stated that the victims including the driver of the four wheeler, who also died in the accident, hail from Anantapur district. The exact cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained. However, low visibility due to fog is also suspected to be one of the reasons which needs to be verified, a senior police officer said.
The victims who hailed from Gorantla in Anantapur district do not belong to the same family, he said.
"Twelve people died on the spot in the accident while one critically injured person who was being treated at a nearby hospital succumbed to injuries. All of them were travelling in the vehicle from Anantapur to Bengaluru and on the way, the vehicle collided with a stationary tanker," D L Nagesh, Superintendent of Police (Chikkaballapur) told PTI.
A case of accident under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code has been registered and efforts are being taken to identify and contact the family members of the victims, police said. (With inputs from agencies)
