Maharashtra forms State Task Force to curb illegal sex determination, female foeticide

The Maharashtra government has formed a high-level State Task Force to strengthen enforcement of the PCPNDT and MTP Acts, curb illegal sex determination and female foeticide, and improve the child sex ratio through inspections and multi-departmental action

The Maharashtra government on Tuesday constituted a high-level State Task Force to strengthen enforcement of the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act and the Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) Act.

The move by the Maharashtra Government aims to curb illegal sex determination, prevent female foeticide, and improve the state's child sex ratio.
