CM Devendra Fadnavis reviews mega projects in Palghar, says infrastructure push will accelerate district's development

Maharashtra Chief Minister CM Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday reviewed several key infrastructure projects in Palghar district saying they would significantly boost the regions development while strengthening the states transport logistics and economic ecosystemDuring his visit CM Fadnavis inspected the proposed Vadhvan Port the MumbaiAhmedabad Bullet Train project the proposed Vadhvan International Airport the Naringi Creek Bridge and the UttanVirar Sea Bridge He also issued directions to senior officials for the timely execution of the projectsCM reviews Vadhvan Port projectAt Chinchani beach Fadnavis reviewed the proposed Vadhvan Port project and assessed progress on internal road connectivity forest clearances power supply railway connectivity land acquisition water supply skill development and compensation for fishermenThe proposed greenfield port estimated to cost around Rs 76220 crore will be developed over 1448 hectares and is expected to be completed within 60 months Once operational it is expected to be among Indias largest deepsea ports with the capacity to handle nextgeneration cargo vesselsBullet train airport projects reviewedCM Fadnavis also inspected the underconstruction Boisar station of the MumbaiAhmedabad Bullet Train project and reviewed its progress He discussed the pace and quality of work with officials and stressed the need to complete the project within the stipulated timelineFurther he visited the site proposed for the Vadhvan International AirportAccording to officials the airport will be strategically connected to the Dedicated Freight Corridor DFC the MumbaiAhmedabad Bullet Train the UttanVirar Sea Link the MumbaiVadodara Expressway and the MumbaiAhmedabad National Highway The project is expected to improve cargo movement from the Vadhvan and Murbe ports while also helping ease passenger traffic at Mumbai airportNaringi Creek Bridge UttanVirar Sea Bridge discussedCM Fadnavis reviewed the progress of the Naringi Creek Bridge being constructed by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority MMRDAThe 410kmlong and 12metrewide bridge estimated to cost around Rs 850 crore is expected to provide direct connectivity between VasaiVirar and the cities of Safale Palghar and Boisar The project is expected to reduce travel distance by around 40 km and cut travel time by approximately 45 minutesFadnavis also reviewed the proposed UttanVirar Sea Bridge projectEstimated to cost around Rs 5875451 crore the sixlane sea bridge will include fourlane approach roads and emergency lanes on both sides The project will have direct connectivity to the MumbaiAhmedabad National Highway enabling faster safer and more efficient travel between South Mumbai and AhmedabadSeveral senior ministers elected representatives and officials were present during the visit including Forest Minister and Palghar Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik Fisheries and Ports Minister Nitesh Rane Member of Parliament MP Dr Hemant Savara legislator Rajendra Gavit and senior officials from the state government Maharashtra Airport Development Company MADC Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority JNPA MMRDA police and district administrationAccording to the state government the proposed infrastructure projects are expected to be game changers for Palghar district boosting ports transport industries exports and employment while contributing to Maharashtras longterm economic growth
