IRCTC launches Devbhoomi Yatra train for north India pilgrimage, check details here

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) on Tuesday announced the launch of the “Uttar Bharat Devbhoomi Yatra”, a spiritual rail journey under the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train scheme.

According to an official statement, the 11-day pilgrimage tour offers travellers a chance to visit some of north India's most sacred and culturally rich locations.


The tour will run from October 4 to October 14, 2025, covering approximately 5,000 kilometres over 10 nights and 11 days.



The journey supports the Government of India’s “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” and “Dekho Apna Desh” initiatives aimed at boosting domestic tourism.

Tour itinerary and highlights:

- Haridwar and Rishikesh – Experience Ganga Aarti and peaceful retreats

- Amritsar - Visit the Golden Temple and attend the Wagah Border ceremony

- Katra - Seek blessings at Mata Vaishno Devi shrine

- Mathura and Vrindavan -- Explore Lord Krishna’s birthplace and bhakti sites

- Agra – Marvel at the world-famous Taj Mahal

The statement said that the train will depart and return from Maharashtra's Kolhapur, with boarding and deboarding options at Miraj, Sangli, Karad, Satara, Pune, Lonavala, Karjat, Kalyan, Vasai Road, Vapi, Surat, and Vadodara in Gujarat.

The tourist train is equipped with modern LHB coaches, offering three travel classes, Sleeper (Economy) - Rs 19,890, 3AC (Standard) - Rs 33,560, 2AC (Comfort) - Rs 44,460. , 

Each coach includes modern kitchen facilities, CCTV cameras and security guards and comfortable accommodation, the official statement said.

It further said that an all-inclusive tour offers hotel stays (AC/Non-AC) on sharing basis, pure vegetarian meals onboard and during sightseeing, local transfers and sightseeing in AC/Non-AC vehicles, travel insurance, trained IRCTC tour managers and hygiene and safety measures throughout the trip.
