Maharashtra local body elections: SEC extends deadline for finalising voter lists in 29 municipal corporations

According to current electoral rolls, Mumbai has around 1.03 crore registered voters, with roughly 11 lakh duplicate entries, including 4.3 lakh multiple registrations.Amid Maharashtra local body elections, both the SEC and BMC have acknowledged these errors and agreed to the extension

The Maharashtra State Election Commission (SEC) has issued a notification extending deadlines for preparing voter lists in 29 municipal corporations across the state. The notification, released on Wednesday, revises timelines for key stages of finalising draft electoral rolls.
The original schedule, set between November 13 and December 12, 2025, has been extended to allow additional time for voter verification and publication. The revised deadlines are as follows:
