Thane civic body removes over 3,700 illegal posters after Model Code of Conduct comes into force

With the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) now in place, the Thane civic officials have begun strict action to ensure its proper implementation, an official statement said

The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has removed 3,778 unauthorised posters, banners and hoardings across the city since the Model Code of Conduct came into force for the upcoming Maharashtra local body elections, officials said on Thursday.

The drive was carried out by the encroachment department between 4 pm on December 15, 2025, and December 18, 2025, they said.
