A massive fire broke out at a textile unit in Bhiwandi area of Thane district in Maharashtra, civic officials said on Friday.
According to the Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) of the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC), the blaze was reported at a textile manufacturing company located near Saravali MIDC in Bhiwandi area.
The fire, which started around 9:24 am, engulfed a ground-plus-three-storey building of Khatri Dyeing, a fabric production unit situated close to the Kongaon Police Station, officials said.
Teams from multiple fire brigades including Bhiwandi, Kalyan, and Ulhasnagar, rushed to the spot with four fire tenders and several private water tankers to contain the blaze.
According to officials, no injuries have been reported so far. Personnel from the Kongaon Police Station are also present at the spot, assisting in crowd control and safety measures.
Firefighters made intensive efforts to extinguish the flames. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, officials said.

The officials said that the blaze was doused and the cooling operations were underway.
Meanwhile, in an another incident, a minor fire was reported at the kitchen area of McDonald’s inside a mall in Dadar area of central Mumbai, civic officials said on Friday, adding that the fire-fighting operations were underway.
The blaze was reported at the eatery located N C Kelkar Marg, opposite Shiv Sena Bhavan in Dadar (West) in Mumbai, they said.
According to preliminary information from the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB), the incident was reported at 3:32 pm, and the MFB declared it a Level-1 (minor) fire at 3:48 pm.
Teams from the MFB, Mumbai Police, 108 ambulance services, and ward staff quickly rushed to the spot.
Firefighters managed to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to other parts of the building.
No injuries have been reported so far, and the cause of the fire is under investigation, officials said.
Earlier, a fire was reported in a seven-storey residential building in the Vikhroli (West) area on Wednesday evening, officials had said.
Nobody was injured in the incident. The blaze was reported at 7.19 pm on the sixth floor of Swapnapurti CHS, located on the Hiranandani Link Road in Sagar Nagar.
A fire brigade official said fire tenders doused the blaze within 10 minutes at 7.30 pm.
