Train services on the Mumbai–Pune route were severely disrupted on Monday after a landslide triggered by incessant heavy rainfall occurred in the South East Ghat section between Karjat and Lonavala, Central Railway said.
According to railway officials, the landslide took place between Thakurvadi (TKW) and Monkey Hill Loop Cabin (MHLC) on the Up Main Line (UPML) in the Mumbai Division. Restoration work was launched immediately, with railway teams deployed to clear debris and ensure passenger safety.
