Maharashtra: MSRTC to develop surplus land under PPP model for up to 98 years

Maharashtra government has approved commercial development of surplus MSRTC land under the public-private partnership model, allowing lease periods of up to 98 years. The initiative aims to generate long-term revenue, strengthen the corporation’s finances and improve passenger services

The Maharashtra government has approved the commercial development of surplus land owned by the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. 

An official statement from the MSRTC stated that under the PPP model we will allow lease periods of 49+49 years, or up to 98 years, to generate long-term revenue for the cash-strapped transport undertaking.
