Maharashtra's School Education Department has released the timetable for the Periodic Assessment Test (PAT) for the academic year 2025-26. The three exams planned for students of Class 2 to Class 8 are: Foundation Test, Comprehensive Assessment Test-1, and Comprehensive Assessment Test-2.
The Foundation Test will be conducted from October 10 to 13, 2025. Students from government, local, and private aided schools across the state will be assessed in First Language, Mathematics, and Third Language (English).
These tests are designed to help teachers monitor students' learning progress rather than act as board exams like Class 10 and 12. The primary aim is to verify whether students have achieved expected learning outcomes, allowing teachers to make necessary improvements in teaching methods as implement action plans.
