More than 6 lakh applications for new voters, objections and corrections have been received across Maharashtra's 36 districts following the publication of the draft electoral rolls during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR), with Pune recording the highest number at 56,605, according to official data.

The draft electoral rolls were published on August 31. Of the 9,78,54,049 voters, 7,71,65,562 were included in the draft rolls, while 2,06,88,487 voters, or 21.14 per cent, were placed in the ASDDO (absent/shifted/dead/duplicate/other) category, PTI reported.
