Maharashtra weather alert: IMD flags heat in Mumbai, Thane; thunderstorms expected across coastal, Marathwada regions

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heat alert for Mumbai, Thane, and parts of the Konkan region, forecasting hot and humid conditions over the next four days as temperatures rise in May.

Both Mumbai and Thane are under a yellow alert, with the IMD predicting a spike in heat and humidity in isolated pockets from Wednesday. Weather conditions are expected to remain largely dry in these regions on Tuesday.
