The moment I bumped into him, I started apologising. I didn’t know who he was or realise that his phone had fallen,” recounted Naveen Subhash Prasanna, 35, who was brutally stabbed by an unidentified man in a scuffle near Mahim station (West) on Thursday night — 48 hours after a 22-year-old was similarly attacked in a Nalasopara-bound train, resulting in his death.
Prasanna had just alighted from a slow local train at Mahim around 10 pm and was making his way to his home when he bumped into the assailant, causing the latter’s phone to fall and break. Just an hour later, the youth ended up in Sion hospital, with his entrails spilling out of a wound in the left side of his abdomen.
