Investigationinto the gruesome killing of an idli vendor, who was beheaded at a busy junction in Dadar (W) on November 5, revealed that contract killers were paid Rs 25,000 to execute the job by the brothers of the deceased&rsquo;s two wives. Police officials have launched a manhunt to trace them. <a href="http://www.mid-day.com/news/2012/nov/161112-mumbai-Love-marriage-that-killed-3-claims-another-victim.htm"><img alt="MiD DAY report" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2012/dec/Print_3.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 298px;" /></a> MiD DAY report on November 16 A gang of five men beheaded Malayappan Pevar, who hailed from Tamil Nadu, at Gopinath Chavan Chowk on Bhavani Shankar Road around 11 am. The police had recovered weapons that are usually used in South Indian villages from the crime scene. Assistant Police Inspector Jayendra Sawant of Dadar police station said, &ldquo;During investigation, we learnt that Pevar had two wives. He had two kids from his first marriage with Rani. He met his second wife, Rama, at a wedding in Tirunelveli. He fell in love with Rama and eloped with her.&rdquo; Enraged by her elopement, Rama&rsquo;s brother killed Pevar&rsquo;s father Pecchi Muthu. To avenge his father&rsquo;s death, Pevar went back to Tamil Nadu and killed one of Rama&rsquo;s five brothers and came back to the city to resume his idli business. Dhananjay Kulkarni, DCP (Zone V), said, &ldquo;Of the five people, who beheaded Pevar at his shop, we have arrested Mukandi Tevar and Ramalingam Mutthu.&rdquo; During interrogation, police officials learnt that Tevar has three murder cases registered against him and was paid Rs 25,000 by Rama and Rani&rsquo;s brothers to eliminate Pevar. Sawant said, &ldquo;Rani&rsquo;s family was outraged at the fact that Pevar married Rama without Rani&rsquo;s consent and that he had stopped visiting her. Rani&rsquo;s abandonment by Pevar had enraged her brothers.&rdquo; When contacted, an official from the Antop Hill police station said Rama committed suicide by hanging herself at her Antop Hill residence on November 16. &ldquo;In her suicide note she had mentioned that nobody should be held responsible for her suicide,&rdquo; said a police officer from Antop Hill police station. u00a0
