A 36-year-old man, claiming to be a scriptwriter, will now have to finish his story in jail, after police nabbed him for cheating a woman of her money. <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/oct/Gold-bond.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 702px;" /> Game is up: Apoorvaditya Kulshrestha (right) being led away by officials Apoorvaditya Kulshrestha, an MBA graduate and a native of Punjab, claimed to be a scriptwriter and a producer in television and films. His modus operandi was to target women and promise them roles in films and TV shows, if they gave him money in return for the opportunity. In one such case, Kulshreshta promised Sanjita Hadimoni a role in a film, provided she gave him Rs 22 lakh. He told her he would invest the money in bonds. Hadimoni, who is from Dubai, gave him the money and the accused made fake gold bonds and posted it to her. The documents not only contained the name of the woman, but also bore the stamp of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). When a relative who worked at the RBI told the woman that the documents were fraudulent, she asked for her money back. Kulshreshta allegedly harassed and threatened her. The victim then lodged a complaint at the Dindoshi police station. Serial cheat The man allegedly took money from several people, promising them roles in shows and films. He had taken Rs 5 lakh from anaspiring actor in Malad, whom he had promised a lead role in a Doordarshan show. When nothing materialised and the actor asked for his money back, he gave him a forged cheque, which promptly bounced. The actor then approached the Malad police with his case. The Dindoshi police officials arrested him on Monday. According to police inspector Dilip Yadav from the Dindoshi police station, Kulshrestha resides with his family and children in Orchid Woods in Goregaon (east). He was booked under sections 420 (cheating), 465 (forgery), 468 (forgery for cheating), 469 (forgery for harming reputation), 470 (forged document) and 506 (2) of the Indian Penal Code.
