The housing authority said it will restore Kala Killa under the ‘adopt a monument’ scheme so it can construct the second building of the redevelopment project

After the construction of Dharavi Redevelopment Project’s (DRP) second building was stopped before it even began, as the Kala Killa stands within 100 metres of the site, the MHADA has finally made some headway.
In a proposal to the state Archaeological Department, the housing authority has offered to restore the fort. In return, the archaeological department has given its in-principle approval to start work on the building.
