Minor fire at IIT-Bombay brought under control

A minor fire broke out at the Powai campus of Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IITB), on Tuesday evening. The fire started broke out in a garbage dump behind a hostel. The fire brigade was called immediately and the blaze doused within 5-10 minutes.

According to information provided by fire control room, a call was received at around 5.30pm on Tuesday regarding a fire on IIT-B campus. One fire tender was sent to the spot that managed to douse the fire. Since it was a garbage dump that had caught fire due to unknown reason, nobody was injured.
