After the Mumbai airport received yet another threat of an attack by terror group ISIS, on Republic Day this time, the airport security agencies conducted an internal mock drill to tighten security measures.

mid-day had reported yesterday about the two threat messages being found scribbled inside two cubicles of two different men&rsquo;s washrooms in the arrivals lounge of Terminal 1A, from where Air India and Go Air operate their flights.

One of the messages read &lsquo;ISIS 26/01/2015 is BOM ok (with a plane drawn next to it)&rsquo; and the other is yet to be deciphered. These messages were received by security agencies around 6.30 pm on Thursday.
After noticing the threats, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Airport police were intimated, and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad and sniffer dogs were also put on alert.
The Airport police are investigating the matter. This drill was conducted at the city side of the domestic terminal and centred on dealing with any kind of emergency situation, if it were to occur from the city side of the terminals 1A and 1B (Jet, Indigo and SpiceJet operate from 1B).
The security agencies have also made the two cubicles of the washrooms non-operational. &ldquo;These messages have been taken seriously and have caused all the security agencies at the airport to be alert 24x7. Hoax or not, it has taken a toll on each and every insider, be it a security or a management staff,&rdquo; said a senior airport official.

He added that police have also asked for CCTV footage of the last five days, as the message might have been noticed yesterday, but could possibly have been written before. This paper had also reported on January 7 about a similar threat of an ISIS attack on Terminal 2, wherein the message threatened an attack on the airport on January 10.
