Rain alert: Southwest Monsoon advances; covers entire Maharashtra on June 24

With the monsoon now covering the remaining parts of Maharashtra, weather conditions across the state are expected to remain favourable for widespread rainfall activity

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday announced the further advance of the Southwest Monsoon, bringing the entire state of Maharashtra under its coverage.

According to the IMD, the monsoon has advanced into some parts of the Northeast Arabian Sea, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, as well as the remaining parts of Maharashtra and additional areas of Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand as of June 24.
