The producer had also received threat messages from a person claiming to be the gangster.

The firing incident occurred more than a week ago, when three men came outside Morani&rsquo;s Juhu house and fired five rounds. Morani also received a threat message after this. Shah Rukh Khan, whose upcoming film Happy New Year Morani is produced by Morani, had also allegedly received threat calls from Ravi Pujari.

mid-day had reported on August 28 that half a dozen film personalities had been given additional security by the Mumbai police. Investigations into the case have shown up the name of Bittu Singh, a New Jersey-based event producer. Police will make Singh an accused in the case. Commissioner of Police Rakesh Maria said, &ldquo;His name cropped up during investigations and we will make him an accused in the case.&rdquo;
Wanted show in US Sources said Singh wanted to put up a show of the SLAM tour &mdash; which is being organised to promote the film &mdash; in New Jersey. He also called Morani to ask him to do so. But, Morani told him he wasn&rsquo;t the producer of the tour and had no say in the decision.
Sources said Morani started receiving calls allegedly from gangster Ravi Pujari. Police are exploring the possibility of Singh directly being involved in the calls and messages to several Bollywood personalities. A relative of his in the city has also been questioned.
Singh is related to late film producer Mukesh Duggal, who was shot dead outside his office allegedly by Abu Salem in 1997. Singh has dabbled in film distribution as well.
