Navi Mumbai’s water reserves continue to receive a healthy boost this monsoon, with Morbe dam, the city’s primary source of drinking water, reaching 75.66 per cent of its storage capacity after consistent rain over the last few days. According to data released by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation’s (NMMC) Disaster Management Cell, the city recorded 1881.20 mm of cumulative rainfall between June 1 and July 28, while Morbe dam received an even higher 2302 mm during the same period.

On Tuesday morning, the dam’s water level stood at 82.96 metres, reflecting a comfortable storage position that is expected to strengthen the city’s water security if the monsoon continues at a similar pace.
