In a tragic incident from Aarey Milk Colony in Goregaon East, a 14-year-old girl allegedly died by suicide on the afternoon of June 9 after being denied permission to use a mobile phone to play games.

According to police sources, the girl locked herself inside her home and was later found unconscious. She was immediately rushed to Trauma Hospital in Jogeshwari East by the Aarey Police. However, doctors declared her dead before admission.

During preliminary questioning, the girl's parents informed the police that she was fond of playing games on the phone and became visibly upset when denied access that day. In a moment of distress, she reportedly locked the door and took the drastic step. The parents have not suspected any foul play and have not held anyone responsible for the incident.

The body was sent to the Siddharth Postmortem Centre for an autopsy, facilitated by police constable Jadhav. An Accidental Death Report (ADR) has been registered, and further investigation is underway, an officer from Aarey Police Station confirmed.
